That’s right, just by tacking on a few of your PTO days to the holidays your company recognizes, you can maximize your vacation days. No matter how many days you’re given off per year, this plan will turn 13 days off into 40 vacation days.
Here’s how:
Memorial Day – May 28
Take off Tuesday-Friday, May 29-June 1
Cost = 4 days off
Reward = 9 day vacation
Independence Day – July 4
Take off Thursday-Friday, July 5-6
Cost = 2 days off
Reward = 5 day vacation
Labor Day – September 3
Take off Friday, August 31
Cost = 1 day off
Reward = 4 day vacation
Columbus Day – October 8
Take off Friday, October 5
Cost = 1 day off
Reward = 4 day vacation
Veterans Day – November 12
Take off Friday, November 9
Cost = 1 day off
Reward = 4 day vacation
Thanksgiving – November 22
Take off Friday, November 23
Cost = 1 day off
Reward = 4 day vacation
Christmas Eve, Christmas & New Years – December 24, 25 & 31
Take off Wednesday-Friday, December 26-28
Cost = 3 days
Reward = 10 day vacation
